Eco-Friendly Children’s Fashion: Sustainable and Stylish Choices

After having a baby myself, I found out that her skin is really sensitive. We haven’t always bought organic baby clothes for Elliott, but we’ve certainly tried to find the next best thing when buying second-hand. These have always been my favorite brands when buying new things.
Organic cotton is one of my favorites when shopping for babies. Incredibly comfortable and nothing better to wear and wash than cotton.

1. Many Moons

The biggest problem with buying baby clothes is that they grow out quickly. That’s why I love the many moon circular model. If you return the clothes when your child is too big, you will get a reward. All of our beautiful, ethically and sustainably made garments come with a lifetime return promise. You can buy from there and get 20 purchase credits every time you return it, or you can rent it for a low monthly fee and return it anytime for free.

2. Pact

It’s very affordable and is another organic brand I use regularly at Elliot’s. After many washes of the onesies and pajamas, I can say that Pact makes the perfect clothes for little ones. Sleepwear is also recommended! All Pact apparel is made from GOTS organic cotton and is Fair Trade USA factory certified. This means that not only are you getting products that are made with eco-friendly fibers, but they are also ethically made.

3. Hanna Andersson

Hannah Anderson offers a wide range of clothing for babies and children. From Disney princesses to Marvel superheroes, there are tons of clothes and pajamas for kids’ favorite characters. Founded in Portland in 1983, Hannah Anderson was perhaps the first sustainability-focused children’s brand. Their clothes are made from natural materials such as organic cotton, and are worn and washed many times.

4. Make Make Organics

Make make Organics offers a wide range of super soft baby clothes, bedding, burp cloths, swaddle blankets, play mats and other baby essentials. Her minimalist, modern, and gender-neutral designs feature muted colors and super cute, simple patterns. All are GOTS Organic, Fairtrade and OEKO-TEX certified. This means that the fabric is eco-friendly and free of harmful chemicals. Sizes range from newborn to 24 months.

5. Boody

If you want the ultimate in softness for your baby, you’ll love Boody’s bamboo fabric. Not all bamboo is created equal, but Boody uses a closed loop system that recycles water and solvents. The brand believes change starts at the root. Their baby clothing collection is made from sustainably sourced bamboo viscose that is good for the planet and your body. Find short/long sleeve bamboo onesies, shorts, t-shirts, pants, socks and more.

6. Finn & Emma

Finn and Emma only use the finest 100% organic cotton, eco-friendly dyes, and all-natural wood (even toys!). Her clothing and accessories are ethically made and focus on the social and economic independence of local people, especially women who work to provide for their families in a safe and equitable environment. I love the simplicity of this brand and the outfit in the photo is too cute!

7. Tabeeze

Tabeeze is a sustainable and intuitive baby clothing brand that is fundamentally changing how babies dress. Her new baby bodysuit is made from her GOTS-certified organic cotton and features patented epaulettes and hassle-free snap adjustments so parents don’t struggle to pull clothes over baby’s head or squirm their hands. This is truly a game changer. Tabeeze is worn bottom-up and secured to your baby’s shoulders, making dressing and dressing more comfortable and providing quick and easy skin-to-skin bonding.

8. Burt’s Bees Baby

Burt’s Bees is a great brand when it comes to accessibility and affordability. I bought Elliott some pajamas and rompers from this brand as I was able to find them at Buy buy baby in our town. There are also cute Christmas pajamas that the family makes every year. I purchased striped onesie pajamas for myself and Travis. I’ve worn it for years and plan to wear it again this year. Elliot needs to get bigger.

9. Mercurii Baby

Mercurii Baby has set itself the mission of optimizing and enhancing the health of young children. The brand is mother-owned and organic, ethical and eco-friendly – not to mention so adorable – how cute is the ruffled romper <3.The company’s organic cotton is GOTS certified and dyed using natural organic dyeing techniques.

10. Loulou Lollipop

Loulou Lollipop launched its original silicone donut and ice cream pacifier in 2015. It sets new standards for safety, durability and aesthetics. My son had one and it was the cutest. Since then, they have expanded into clothing and beyond, always focusing on quality, availability and sustainability. All of their products are ASTM, CPSC and CPSIA compliant. Because we believe you and your child deserve the best.
